Understanding Typesetting Justified Paragraphs and Type Color.
Experimenting with different combinations allowed me to create a diverse range of typographic colors, from light and airy to bold and dense. Additionally, switching between serif and sans serif typefaces provided valuable insights into how font choice contributes to typographic expression.
Here are the four finals that I made. Through an iterative design process, I experimented with scale and placement to achieve compositional and visual interest. Selecting paragraphs from the grayscale grid below, I arranged them to create contrast and hierarchy. This part challenged me to think about the relationship between typography and layout, as effective design is a harmonious interplay of text and space. Overall, the experience helped my understanding of typographic composition.

At this point, I focused on creating a grayscale grid using 20 paragraphs from the 50 samples below. As I assembled the grid, I carefully evaluated the typographic variety present in each paragraph, making adjustments to ensure a balanced distribution of light and dark elements. Through this process, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of typographic diversity in creating visually compelling layouts.

At the beginning, through iterative adjustments in size, letter spacing, and uppercase/lowercase, I explored the diverse range of typographic color variations possible within a single font and weight. Additionally, I I found out the impact of font weight and style changes on typographic color, noting how bold fonts created greater contrast while italics introduced subtle shifts in color. This process shows me the importance of paying attention to detail and has helped improve my skills in typesetting.
